@ No Pandit - Glad to know Indian Classical Music is alive, and there are still people who worship the pristine art. Why don't you share upcoming events that you know of...we could add in our calendar and share it with our readers. Also, it would be great if you could share more of your views on ICM...with 30 years of experience, you must be having a lot of stories to tell!

Good points however having been involved with ICM for over 30 years I can tell you the talent is still there. The interest is not though so like jazz it is an art form that will last but is always 'simmering on the stove'.
The true greats are/were usually underrated much like Nikhil Banerjee was while some others get promoted due to family fame or backed by money and so mediocrity is the key word usually with the more popular artists these days, with exceptions of course. Still it will flourish, perhaps more so in the West even. The music is alive and well, perhaps people should attend more concerts.
