Now you can make your favorite gajar ka halwa aka carrot pudding whenever you crave for, and without going through the tedious, traditional way. Simply grate and microwave. It is as simple as that!
INGREDIENTS:
- Carrots – grated, 1 cup (3 medium sized carrots)
- Milk – 1 cup
- Sugar – 2 – 2 1/2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
- Chopped nuts (raisins, almonds, cashews) – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
METHOD:
- Peel, wash and grate the carrots using smaller holes of the box grater.
- In a microwave safe glass bowl, put ghee and carrots. Microwave on high for 4 minutes.
- Put milk and stir. Microwave for 4 minutes, stirring after every 2 minutes.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir. Microwave for 6 minutes, stirring after every 2 minutes, or until carrots become soft and the milk is absorbed.
- Serve hot or cold. Garnish with nuts.
Yield – 1-2 servings
