Where dad and mom
And sisters and brothers reside
Building countless memories to recite
A little nest to rest
To celebrate lovely fests
Where you are born and raised
Where you are thoroughly loved and praised
The place that smiles
Even when you go away a thousand miles
Where you dare to say the truth and lie
It’s the only somebody you never wanna say good-bye!
If you find a place where you feel you belong
That’s when you know you are home.
Where your favorite food is prepared
Each morning the bed is made
Where you live life fully furnished
Voila! the closet is replenished
And old apparels laundered
Your every whim and fancy catered
Oh thy poor mommy dear
Life wouldn’t be at leisure, if not for her endeavor!
If you find a place with such great treat
That’s when you know you are home.
Where childhood photos are up on the wall
Of the first birthday and the college ball
Old sweaters are still saved
Nicely folded in a suitcase
Including sport medals and other accolades
Proudly displayed in the room
Just the way when you were still in the womb!
If you find a place where you’re the hero
That’s when you know you are home.
A place that’s there
Exactly the way you left it
A long, long time ago
It forever waits for your return
With its door wide open
If you find this place
Lucky you…you’ve finally reached home.
@ Shylea – Rather, it is the only identity we have. Without home we wouldn’t be born and then there wouldn’t be a “I”. Thanks for stopping by.
@ Dyna – Cheers!

Hey there
This touched my heart!!!!! Without home, there is absolutely no sense of self and the feeling of ‘I belong’ and having said that home is also the only other identity we have other than ‘I’
@ Thanks. 🙂
