Brave soldiers fighting and defending
The reputation of the great emperor
And the honor of his dear queen
Restoring and replenishing pride
Overcoming the tryst of the higher tide
Such stories are etched all over the walls
Of battles fought and won
Even creating a silent sound
Of blows and strikes of weapon abound
Once a city of great men
The ruins is now a cemetery of the dead.
The ruins is a beauty to behold
Standing tall in its heavy-duty foothold
The vaults and arches
The gorgeous porches
The sturdy pillars
And the magnificent dome
Shows beauty and enormity both
Painting a lovely picture of the rosy times
Inside here, there’s so much to imbibe!
Alas, beauty has faded
But its greatness still remains.
Once a venue for victory parades
Many a trials, triumphs and tribulations
and gladiator matches
A podium for good speeches and great promises
and king’s coronation
A place where history was written
With blood and sweat in return
The ruins is now a tourist place
Where people click pictures and find solace.
