This thick, creamy and luscious pudding will change the way you look at curd, who knows, it might even become the new way to enjoy curd at home! Give your loved ones a lovely surprise today, we’re sure it’ll make everybody happy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • Condensed milk – 1 can (14 oz)
  • Evaporated milk – 1 can (12 oz)
  • Plain yogurt/curd – 18 oz

METHOD:

  • Open the cans and pour the contents in a large bowl. Mix them together.
  • Use the empty can of the evaporated milk to measure the quantity for curd. Pour it in a separate bowl and with a spoon whisk vigorously to break up any lumps. Put this in the other bowl and blend them all.
  • Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees F. Pour the curd mix in a large baking pan (preferably round/oval). Cover it with aluminum foil. Put it in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Do not open the oven door at any time.
  • Turn off and keep the curd inside for 3-4 hours. Again, do not open the oven door when your curd sets.
  • Cool and put it in refrigerator. Keep for at least 2-3 hours before serving. Serve chilled.
  • Now you know how to make your day, a sweet day, isn’t it?

Swell!! Curd baked in oven, sounds like a perfect ending to a happy meal. What mode do we cook? Convection? Or grill?

@ Roh – I used conventional oven. I’m sure you can bake it in convection oven, just have to figure out the time and temperature requirements.

@ Deepa – They call it “mishti doi” (sweet yogurt) in Bengali, and it’s a popular dessert in Bengal. You must try it, it is easy to make and very delicious.
